When did you start creating content? What was your motivation?

I started blogging lightly when I was in high school! My dad showed me how to make a Wordpress account and I wrote things off and on for a few years. When I started my sophomore year of college, I realized I wanted to start it back up! That being said, I didn't really go full force at it or even dream I could monetize it! I officially started my Fashion + Lifestyle blog called Sequins and Sales in January of 2018. The motivation behind it was to give style advice and show looks that I loved! I also started off sharing some of the items that I sewed myself too. Now my main motivation behind my blog is to help women with style advice, to show them lifestyle hacks, and to give them any blogging tips I've gained along the way.

What's your favorite thing about creating content and the work that you do?

I have a couple favorite things about blogging. Blogging has helped me to create friends all over the country! This past summer while I was in NYC, my blogger friend from Philly was there for a weekend and I was able to meet her for dinner! I also recently moved to Orlando for my current internship and I have already had brunch with some bloggers here. This is a great and loving community and I wouldn't change it for the world! Another favorite thing of mine is that I LOVE being able to help people. Whenever I have followers ask questions, I always make sure to answer them in as detailed a way as possible. That, or point them towards a post I have about said topic!

What's your favorite thing about the InfluenceHer Collective?

My favorite thing about InfluenceHer Collective is the opportunities I have gotten because of them! I was so fortunate to work with Almay this past summer and get to go to HerConference on behalf of them! I got to sit front row and hear Keech Combe Shetty (the CEO of Vagisil) speak, get more insight into being a better blogger, and meet SO MANY other amazing women! The keynote speakers were absolutely fantastic and I am so grateful to get to go again. I've also gotten to work with brands like Steve Madden and Neutrogena! The best part though is working with Megan and the team. They have perfect communication and are ALWAYS helpful and nice!

Are you currently working on any cool projects or posts?

Currently I am trying to work on some more Disney content! I am interning here this semester as a Costume Buyer and I've had a lot of people request posts abut food, rides, and free things to do. I'm also trying to work on some more posts regarding blogging because I've learned a lot more since my last few!

What are some of your favorite brands (and brands that you'd love to collaborate with)?

Some of my favorite brands are ASOS (who I've gotten to work with through InfluenceHer Collective!!), LOFT, H&M, Target, and Uniqlo. LOFT is where I get almost all of my work wear and I love getting more unique pieces from ASOS. Target is my GO TO place for shoes. I think at least half of my shoe collection is from there. Uniqlo is a store I more recently discovered, but they have staple pieces that are super affordable! They also do partnerships with unique artists which I love.

How do you feel about being selected as an InfluenceHer Award winner?

More ecstatic than I could ever imagine! My first real campaign was through InfluenceHer Collective and I love working with this platform more than any others. I haven't been able to travel much growing up because my family couldn't really afford it. Getting to go to LA for a weekend for this amazing event is a dream come true! As a Fashion Merchandising major, LA is a huge hub for style and I have always wanted to go. HerConference was the best experience of 2018 (and possibly my life) last year and I could cry that I get to go again!
